With the charming, centuries-old city of Bordeaux as our base, we’ll sip and taste our way through bistros and wine bars, meet winemakers in chateaux of the nearby regions of Medoc and St. Emilion, and learn why this terroir makes everything from local oysters, wine, and artisanal cheeses taste so special. Steeped in history, and famed for its unique art de vivre, Bordeaux boasts a rich heritage and houses numerous historic and modern monuments. The city proudly holds the title of the largest urban UNESCO World Heritage site anywhere in the world.

Bordeaux, France Itinerary Highlights (subject to change as we fine tune activities)
Day 1 – Friday, May 3, 2024. Welcome to Bordeaux! Private transfer from the Bordeaux airport or train station to our charming luxury boutique hotel in the heart of Bordeaux in the area known as The Golden Triangle. Welcome dinner.
Day 2 – With your free time in the morning, you might want to relax over a leisurely breakfast and shake off jet lag or wander the beautiful neighborhood around our hotel. Later in the morning, we’ll meet our guide for a walking and tasting tour of some of Bordeaux’s local gourmet delicacies. Following our tour, we’ll have an introduction to Bordeaux wine at the Ecole du Vin with a local wine expert. Free evening.
Day 3 – Discover the unique market of Les Capucins with chef Franck Audu, of La Tupina, who will introduce you to fresh local products and traditional French gastronomic cooking from Bordeaux and the Landes. After collecting our ingredients from the market, we’ll have a cooking class with Chef Audu, preparing our own lunch. Enjoyed with French wine pairings, of course! Free afternoon and evening.
Day 4 – Head to the Graves vineyards, south of Bordeaux for a tasting of famous South Bordeaux foods and a barbeque lunch with wine pairings. After lunch, we’ll have a private tour and tasting of a Grand Cru Classé with the winemaker and discover unique Sauternes wines. Back in Bordeaux, we’ll gather for dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 5 – Medoc wine is waiting for us on the famous Châteaux Route. Sumptuous estates, majestic chateaux, and passionate winemakers will show us the secrets of wine production and tasting. Our private visits will include lunch in the heart of the vineyard where famous family estates will open their doors for us. A special wine workshop is in the works too. Free evening.
Day 6 – We’re headed to the coast today. In the morning, we’ll learn about the local caviar produced from sturgeon fish from the Garonne River. Next, we’ll enjoy a private cruise on Arcachon Bay with wine tasting, then visit a traditional oyster shack. Free evening.
Day 7 – The wines of the famous Saint-Emilion await. Along with a winery lunch, we’ll have a tour and tasting of sparkling Saint-Emilion wines. We’ll explore the beautiful UNESCO village of Saint-Emilion, then head back to Bordeaux for some free time before our farewell dinner.
Day 8 – Friday, May 10, 2024. Departures. Transfer to Bordeaux airport or train station for your journey home or your next destination!
