Day 1: Arrival Day & Welcome Dinner Private transfers from the airport to our boutique hotel, our home for the next five nights. After an early evening orientation, we’ll have a group Welcome Dinner at a top-tier Mexican restaurant housed in a traditional hacienda, offering a first taste of Mexico City's vibrant culinary scene.
Day 2: Aztec Ruins, Chocolate & Mariachi Bands We’ll set off to explore Mexico City's historic center, including visits to the Zócalo, the city's main square, and the Templo Mayor, revealing the ancient Aztec temple ruins in the middle of the city. During a guided visit to a food market, we’ll learn about unique ingredients in Mexican cuisine, including exotic meats and insects. Our group lunch is the first taco stand in Mexico to be awarded a Michelin star. Next up is a hands-on chocolate experience, where you'll not only create your own chocolate but also sample a variety of chocolates from different regions of Mexico and learn about the rich history of chocolate in the country. The evening is yours to enjoy at your leisure perhaps enjoying Mariachi music, nearby restaurants, or even tequila tastings in Garibaldi Plaza.
Day 3: Floating Gardens of Xochimilco & Tacos Early-morning drive to Xochimilco to explore the ancient chinampas, floating gardens used for agriculture since pre-Hispanic times, and learn about the Aztec's innovative agricultural practices. Enjoy a leisurely ride on a brightly colored trajinera through the canals of Xochimilco, complete with a lunch of Mexican street-food dishes. Afternoon visit to Coyoacán, a historic and culturally vibrant neighborhood, including sampling the tacos from classic al pastor to unique regional specialties.
Day 4: Shopping, Mezcal Tasting & Cooking Class Start the day with a guided tour of the Chapultepec Park, home to the historic Castillo de Chapultepec, and savor some authentic Mexican snacks such as chicharrón and papas preparadas. We’ll enjoy a group lunch at a distinguished fusion restaurant, where Asian and Mexican cuisines blend for a memorable lunch experience. Next, we’ll have a Mezcal tasting session to deepen your understanding of this beloved Mexican spirit and its cultural significance. Spend a free afternoon in the trendy Condesa/Roma area, known for its eclectic shops, art galleries, and cozy cafes. We’ll gather in the evening for a hands-on cooking class, where you'll master the techniques and flavors of Mexican cuisine.
Day 5: Free Day and Farewell Dinner You’ll have the day to yourself to continue exploring Mexico City's many attractions, such as visiting the numerous museums scattered across the city, continue exploring the foodie scene in the Condesa/Roma area, treating yourself to a luxurious massage in Polanco, or taking a stroll along the grand Paseo de la Reforma. Our farewell dinner will be at one of Mexico City's most beautiful rooftop restaurants with a stunning view of the Zócalo, marking the end of our culinary adventure.
Day 6: Departure Day Private airport transfers will be arranged for your trip home or on to your next adventure.
