Colorful medinas, private riads, desert winds, and succulent tagines…all your dreams about Morocco will come to life when you join our small group of travelers on this North African adventure. Our visits to bustling Marrakech and the seaside village of Essaouira will include a culinary walking tour through the medina, a hands-on cooking class, visits to local craftspeople, a desert photo safari, and plenty of time for shopping and wandering. We’ll even learn about the small Moroccan wine industry. Our guide will be with us the entire journey to make sure we soak it all up and meet locals along the way.

Morocco Itinerary Highlights:
Day 1 – Arrivals in Marrakech, Friday, September 29. Private transfer from the airport to our four-star Riad. Welcome Dinner. (D)
Day 2 – Free morning, half-day tour to Bahia Palace, colorful Marrakech markets, local cooperatives, and the vibrant main square; evening culinary tour through the ancient medina. (B, D)
Day 3 – We’ll start with a morning visit to the Majorelle Gardens, Yves Saint Laurent Museum, and an organic farm outside the city. Afternoon free time for a traditional hammam experience at a luxury spa (optional) and for wandering through the markets. (B, L)
Day 4 – Enjoy your free morning, then head to the Agafay Desert in the early afternoon for a Jeep safari through the desert with photo stops and time to admire the landscapes. We’ll end our day with a sunset dinner at a desert camp then return to Marrakech. (B, D)
Day 5 – Say goodbye to Marrakech and start our morning drive to the laid-back coastal city of Essaouira. Visit an argan oil cooperative along the way with a stop to see the goats in the trees. Lunch at the fish market in Essaouira and check into our Riad. We’ll have an afternoon tour of the historic old city. (B, L)
Day 6 – Morning visits to traditional craftspeople of Essaouira, workshops, markets, and the fortress. We’ll also visit the Dar Souiri cultural center (local art and cultural exhibitions), then have an afternoon free to spend at the beach. That evening we’ll cook our own dinner in a hands-on cooking class. (B, D)
Day 7 – We’ll take a day trip to the small fishing village of Sidi Kaouiki where we’ll spend time on the beach, tour the village, and have lunch at the home of a local family. (B, L)
Day 8 – After a leisurely morning, we’ll check out of our Riad and head to the Val d’Argan winery for a tasting of Moroccan wines and lunch. After lunch, we’ll head up the coast to our hotel at the Casablanca Airport (for those that are departing Saturday). (B, L)
Day 9 – Departures, Saturday, October 7. Transfer to the Casablanca airport for your journey home or on to your next destination! (B)
Optional Culinary and Cultural Tour of Casablanca. Friday, October 6, check in to our Casablanca Hotel for two nights. Tour of Hassan II Mosque, art deco walking tour, visit two medinas, lunch and market tastings, plus group dinner. Departures, Sunday, October 8. (Priced separately; see below.)
