Sicily Sample Itinerary 
  • Day 1 - Welcome Dinner, Introductions & Tour Overview. Join your fellow Sicily travelers for our opening night dinner at a beautiful restaurant. .
  •  Day 2 - Market Tour and Home Cooking Class. We’ll meet our chef in the hotel lobby, and we’ll head out for a visit to the Ortigia Market for a tour and tasting. Following the Market visit we’ll start our cooking class and then enjoy the Sicilian lunch we’ve prepared together. Free afternoon. Evening Syracuse Walking Tour with Food & Wine Tastings. Our guide will meet us for a walking tour of Ortigia to learn about the history and culture of the city. Included in our evening will be food and wine tastings at a seafood restaurant, a family taverna, and a pastry shop.
  • Day 3 - Visit to the Villages of Noto and Marzamemi with a walking tour and lunch.  After touring Noto and a tasting in an ancient pastry bar, we’ll depart for the small fishing village of Marzamemi. We’ll visit a fish bottega and taste products from a local producer before our lunch in a seaside restaurant. Group dinner at a restaurant specializing in freshly caught seafood near the old market.
  • Day 4 - Day trip to Ragusa and Modica – after breakfast, we’ll meet our guide and head to the village of Ragusa. We’ll have a walking tour of Ragusa with a tasting of DOP cheese in a local bottega. (A cheese awarded the DOP is of the highest quality. DOP stands for “Denominazione di Origine Protetta”, which means Protected Designation of Origin.) Our next stop will be lunch in family taverna in the city center of Ragusa. After lunch we’ll head to Modica where we’ll begin with a walking tour and end with a tasting of Modica’s famous chocolate. We’ll head back to our hotel in Syracuse for a free evening.
  • Day 6 - Day trip to the slopes of Mt. Etna. Our first stop will be the Patria Winery for a tasting of their wines, lunch and a tour of their cellars. Of course, our day will include stops to see the Mt. Etna views and volcano. Free evening.
  • Day 7 - Visit to Taormina with Cooking Class. We’ll meet a local chef in the city center for a market visit. Our cooking class will be in a family tavern, where we’ll enjoy our lunch with local wines. After lunch we’ll have free time to walk, shop, and explore Taormina. Farewell dinner.
  • Day 8 - Departures.
